What is an addon domain?

Think of an addon domain as a standalone domain that's hosted on your main domain, yet it gives off the impression of having its own separate account. For instance, if you were to add "newdomain.com", anyone visiting your site would see "newdomain.com" in the URL, but in reality, it's just being redirected to a specific folder under your main domain.

Many of Suncoast Hosting Plans come with unlimited addon domains, and every plan includes at least one addon domain.

Here's how to add a domain:

First, make sure the name servers are directed to the nameservers of the welcome email from Suncoast Hosting that you received when you signed up. If you can't find the details, don't worry, just reach out to us through our live chat or submit a ticket in the My Account section and we'll resend the email.

Next, log into your cPanel account and choose 'Addon Domains' from the 'Domains' menu.

Fill out the form like this:

New Domain Name: the domain you want to add

Subdomain/FTP Username: Whatever you enter here will become the folder created under your main account. It will also be the default username for mail and FTP.

Password: your password

Keep in mind, changes in nameservers can take up to 48 hours.
